The Holy Spirit

I pray that each of you are willing to go where you may have never gone before. Last night at the book study many of you expressed that the Holy Spirit is someone you know nothing about. You made the comment that you were raised a certain denomination and you were never taught about Him. I encouraged my small group to flush what man has taught and turn your heart to the Word of God. What does scripture say? So many times we base our beliefs on what others have told us is truth. But does that make it TRUTH? Absolutely not. Man's opinions do not always line up with what God has said. I encourage all of you to forget about "tongues" right now. The Holy Spirit is so much more than tongues. And unfortunately, man, has put the focus on this gift. It has scared many people away from drawing closer to the things of God. So just put it aside. When you hunger and thirst for more of God, he will give you what you need when you need it. Just trust Him. Read your Bible for answers. Ask the Lord to reveal to you what He wants for your life. God only gives his children good gifts so there is nothing to fear. If you are saying to yourself, "There has to be more," then seek God and ask Him for more. Far too long we have tried to get to a certain place on our own. We have tried to make it happen. With the help of the Holy Spirit you WILL grow. You will reach your destination only to make another goal. This life with Christ is a journey and the Holy Spirit is your guide. Welcome all He has to offer and watch your life flow with living water.

Love you,
Heather

  2. Hi Ladies! Something has been weighing on my heart so much this morning, and I just felt the need to share. It's the idea of 'false convictions'. This was something I had to recognize about myself when I made the choice to begin a true relationship with God. When something spiritually new came my way, the feeling was almost instant that it had to be wrong! I had to start asking myself where this 'conviction' stemmed from? Was it from man? From religion? Or was it from God? And in instances where I didn't know...I prayed about it. I asked that God would give me the peace I needed if this was from Him. When you begin this new relationship, this sense of allowing the Holy Spirit to mold you, help you, guide you, comfort you....you are most definitely going to wrestle with 'traditions'. But don't allow that to discourage you from taking this step! Remember that this is between you and your God, and no one else. God is good and he give good things! Let Him give you everything He has to offer!!

  4. I am in awe of the things I have learned in the couple of weeks I have been involved in the bible study. I grew up in a Baptist church and so was Jeff. I have never learned about the Holy Spirit and never knew anything about it. As I learn, I am like oh my gosh, that is what I feel, I know it so deep in my heart. The feeling I get is not hard to describe at all because I can be praying really hard or really enjoying Praise and Worship and I get this cold chill, but my heart feels so warm. I have never told anyone about it because I figured they would think I was crazy. When this happens I get so happy and I always say “hello Lord.” I know your probably thinking this lady is a nut, but I don’t care anymore I am just honored that the Holy Spirit has made His presents known and I am so hungry for more!
